Director of Education (Full Time)
Tampa Theatre is seeking an innovative, entrepreneurial, and community-minded Director of Education to build and lead an exciting new chapter in the Theatre’s 100-year history. The Director will report to the President and CEO.
About the role
As Tampa Theatre expands into newly dedicated education spaces, we are creating a dynamic learning hub where young people, adults, educators, filmmakers, and community members can explore film, storytelling, media literacy, and creative expression. This is a rare opportunity for a visionary leader to design educational programs from the ground up while building partnerships across schools, universities, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and the broader Tampa Bay community.
The ideal candidate will combine educational expertise, strong project-management skills, and business acumen to develop engaging programs that are impactful, accessible, and financially sustainable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead Tampa Theatre’s education vision and strategy
- Expand youth and summer education programs
- Create educational offerings for adults and lifelong learners
- Build partnerships with schools, universities, and community organizations
- Develop revenue-generating educational initiatives and special programs
- Manage educational operations, budgets, and program assessment
- Serve as an ambassador for Tampa Theatre throughout the community
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Experience in education, arts education, youth development, nonprofit leadership, or related fields
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborative relationships
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for learning and community engagement
- Willingness to work some nights and weekends
Pay
Competitive salary starting at $75,000, with the range increasing based on experience and qualifications.
