Director of Education

About the role

The Lead Teacher is responsible for leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the Wonder of Learning® curriculum, ensuring alignment with Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines, NAEYC, and QRIS standards. They partner with leadership to maintain excellence in education, staff performance, and family experience. The role involves recruiting, training, coaching, and evaluating teaching staff, providing ongoing professional development, conducting performance evaluations, fostering a collaborative school culture, building strong relationships with families, addressing concerns professionally, representing the school in the community, overseeing Core Advantage assessments, monitoring child progress, maintaining classroom environments, collaborating on learning resources, and supporting enrollment growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the Wonder of Learning® curriculum
• Ensure alignment with Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines, NAEYC, and QRIS standards
• Partner with leadership to maintain excellence in education, staff performance, and family experience
• Support the development of policies and systems to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate teaching staff
• Provide ongoing professional development focused on play-based learning and instructional best practices
• Conduct performance evaluations and support continuous growth
• Foster a collaborative, positive school culture
• Build strong relationships with families through clear, proactive communication
• Provide parent education resources and support
• Address concerns with professionalism and care
• Represent the school in the community to support growth and enrollment
• Oversight of Core Advantage assessments and use of data to guide instruction
• Maintain engaging, safe, and compliant classroom environments
• Collaborate on resources and environments that support learning excellence

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• 6+ years in early childhood education, including 3+ years in leadership
• Oklahoma Director’s Credential
• Strong knowledge of play-based learning, curriculum implementation, and early learning standards
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience driving staff development and program improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Master’s degree
• Experience with Goddard’s Wonder of Learning® and Core Advantage
• Experience with NAEYC accreditation and QRIS systems
• Proven success in enrollment growth through program excellence
