Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead MMGY’s discoverability practice, including the vision, service definition, positioning and go-to-market approach for this emerging discipline.
  • Create and operationalize a unified offering across SEO, AEO/GEO, Social search, discoverability-driven content strategy and PR distribution strategy.
  • Define the agency’s point of view on discoverability in the age of AI, LLMs and agentic search, and translate that point of view into market-facing products and client solutions.
  • Partner with the VP Marketing Technology and other department leaders to build a profitable, scalable revenue stream based on ongoing monitoring, consulting, strategic planning and execution.
  • Develop service frameworks, methodologies, processes and deliverables that support consistent, high-quality client delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to grow client engagements through integrated workstreams with PR, Creative, Content, Strategy, Media and Marketing Technology teams.
  • Serve as senior strategic lead on key client engagements, providing counsel on how brands can improve visibility across search engines, AI answer engines, generative platforms and other discovery environments.
  • Build discoverability roadmaps that align technical optimization, content development and earned distribution to client business goals.
  • Partner with Account Management and Business Development teams to support new business pitches, client education and strategic upsell opportunities.
  • Monitor industry shifts related to Google, AI search, LLM platforms, search behavior and travel discovery trends, and proactively translate those shifts into agency and client recommendations.
  • Establish KPIs, measurement frameworks and reporting approaches that demonstrate the business impact of discoverability efforts.
  • Collaborate with Analytics and Strategy teams to identify insights, emerging demand patterns and optimization opportunities.
  • Mentor and guide cross-functional team members, helping elevate agency-wide knowledge of discoverability, AI search and integrated organic visibility.
  • Evaluate tools, partnerships and technologies that enhance MMGY’s discoverability capabilities and delivery model.
  • Represent MMGY externally through thought leadership, client presentations, industry events and content that reinforces the agency’s leadership in travel discoverability.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing and advertising
  • 7+ years experience in organic search
  • Proven experience in developing strategy and solutions for emerging AI Search
  • Expertise in technical SEO, content strategy and off-page authority-building, with a strong understanding of how these disciplines are evolving in AI-driven search environments
  • Strong understanding of how earned media, digital content and structured technical signals work together to improve discoverability
  • Proven ability to translate emerging digital trends into client-ready solutions, recommendations and revenue opportunities
  • Experience presenting to senior clients and internal stakeholders with executive presence and strategic credibility
  • Able to balance visionary thinking with practical implementation and operational discipline
  • Experienced in leading SEO platforms, including Semrush, BrightEdge, Oncrawl, Google Search Console, Moz, Screaming Frog and Surfer SEO
  • Experience in pioneering AI Search platforms, such as Profound or Peec AI
  • Experience building or leading integrated service offerings, practices or cross-functional teams within an agency or consulting environment
  • Strong business acumen, including experience with scoping, forecasting, pricing and managing toward revenue and margin goals
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work collaboratively across multiple teams, personalities and disciplines
  • Highly motivated, self-starting and comfortable leading through ambiguity and change
  • Passion for the travel, tourism and hospitality industries preferred
  • Experience in a professional services, integrated agency or travel marketing environment preferred
