About the role
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Director of Direct Tax to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Lead tax strategy initiatives by developing plans that support business objectives and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee preparation and review of tax filings estimates and reporting requirements to ensure timely completion.
- Partner with finance legal and operational teams to identify opportunities that improve tax efficiency and business outcomes.
- Manage tax department operations including process development technology enhancements and workflow optimization.
- Provide leadership to tax professionals through coaching mentorship and performance development initiatives.
Requirements
- A Bachelor degree in accounting taxation or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in tax planning compliance and advisory functions.
- Possess a CPA or legal designation with strong knowledge of business and partnership taxation.
- Demonstrate experience leading large tax teams and managing complex departmental operations.
- Maintain strong understanding of current tax regulations reporting requirements and compliance practices.

- Communicate effectively with executives business leaders and external advisors through strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Apply strategic thinking and sound judgment when evaluating tax risks opportunities and business initiatives.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a fast paced and evolving environment.

- Bring public accounting experience advanced tax education or exposure to healthcare retail or similar industries considered beneficial.
Pay
Expected starting base salary of $190,000 to $260,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
