About the role

In this role you will oversee and control day-to-day operations of all dining services at the community, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Company Dining Policy and Procedures and ensure all department personnel are compliant.
  • Purchase all dining food and non-food items, achieving 95% DSSI ordering compliance.
  • Balance and maintain budgets for raw food and supplies.
  • Utilize company standard recipes for food production.
  • Ensure food is served at proper temperature and portion sizes according to food safety and palatability policies.
  • Ensure residents’ prescribed diets are offered when applicable.
  • Drive high satisfaction by offering residents choice, dignity, and independence in dining.
  • Develop and implement operating and cleaning instructions/procedures for the department.
  • Perform pre-meal dining stand-up with service staff to review daily menu details.
  • Adhere to all company and local, state, and county health department regulations; act as the community’s dietary representative for inspections and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all dining areas are clean and safely operating; complete monthly self-sanitation audits.
  • Interview, manage, train, hire, discipline, and terminate dining staff as needed.
  • Oversee scheduling of food service personnel to maintain compliance with labor budget.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of previous food service experience required.
  • Management experience is a plus but not required.
  • ServSafe and/or other required local, county, or state certifications.
  • Ability to switch tasks quickly and often.
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Pride in food quality, presentation, and kitchen/dining cleanliness.
  • Patience and ability to communicate effectively with diverse personalities.
