About the role

The Director of Digital Product leads the enterprise-wide digital engineering product ecosystem, owning the digital platforms and capabilities that support the full product lifecycle from engineering through manufacturing and service. This role is accountable for defining the strategy, operating model, and long-term investment decisions that enable scalable, model-centric, and data-driven ways of working across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the enterprise digital product strategy for engineering platforms and capabilities, including PLM, ALM, CAD, and the supporting ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business strategy and long-range product plans.
  • Establish and govern a multi-year product vision, roadmap, and investment strategy that balances innovation, platform sustainability, technical debt reduction, and business value realization.
  • Maintain accountability for the overall health and performance of the engineering digital product portfolio, including adoption, cost efficiency, engineering productivity, quality outcomes, and time-to-market.
  • Lead the evolution of the digital engineering operating model, including governance structures, funding models, agile-at-scale practices, and value measurement approaches.
  • Enable and scale the digital thread, ensuring seamless continuity from CAD-driven engineering bills of materials through manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service.
  • Drive the adoption and advancement of systems engineering, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), PLM, ALM, and CAD platforms that support virtual build, virtual testing, model-based definition (MBD), and platform-based product development.
  • Serve as the executive decision and escalation authority for cross-domain prioritization, capacity trade-offs, and platform investment decisions.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external partners to ensure platforms are secure, resilient, compliant, and future-ready.
  • Influence and help shape vendor and partner roadmaps so they align with enterprise needs and long-term digital engineering strategies.
  • Drive roadmap transparency so stakeholders clearly understand priorities, timelines, and trade-offs across the digital engineering product portfolio.
  • Establish value-based prioritization frameworks, KPIs, and success metrics, using data and user feedback to drive continuous improvement and maximize business impact.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop product leaders, including product managers and product owners, while shaping the design and structure of the product organization.
