About the role
The Director of Development is responsible for overseeing all fundraising activities, including grant writing, donor stewardship, and event planning.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all fundraising activities, including grant writing, donor stewardship, and event planning.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase donations and support from various donors and foundations.
- Manage and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and donors to ensure long-term support.
- Prepare and present proposals to potential funders and manage the grant application process.
- Coordinate and execute fundraising events to raise awareness and funds for the organization.
- Steward existing donors and develop new relationships through personalized communications and recognition programs.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising data to inform strategic decisions and improve outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, public relations, or fundraising).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and event planning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
