Position Summary

The Chesapeake Baysox are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Director of Corporate Partnerships to lead sponsorship sales efforts and drive revenue growth throughout the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to generate new sponsorship revenue for the Chesapeake Baysox.
  • Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of sponsors.
  • Identify and secure multi-year partnership opportunities.
  • Maximize inventory across various assets.

Account Management & Retention

  • Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled and executed at a high level.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and strategic planning sessions with partners.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, renewals, and upselling.
  • Maintain exceptional partner satisfaction and retention rates.

Leadership & Department Management

  • Direct and mentor the Manager, Corporate Partnerships.
  • Aid in training, coaching, and developing sales staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on sponsorship strategy, pricing, inventory management, and departmental planning.

Community & Business Development

  • Serve as an ambassador for the Chesapeake Baysox throughout the community.
  • Participate in networking events, business organizations, chambers of commerce, and community functions.
  • Develop relationships with business leaders throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and the surrounding region.
  • Identify new business opportunities that strengthen the organization's presence and revenue potential.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with ticket sales, marketing, game presentation, community relations, and operations departments to execute partnership programs.
  • Collaborate with Attain Sports leadership on cross-property partnership opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales activity, pipeline development, renewals, and revenue performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sponsorship sales, sports sales, media sales, advertising sales, or related business development experience.
  • Demonstrated history of generating new business revenue and achieving sales goals.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing corporate accounts and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the baseball schedule.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Minor League Baseball, professional sports, collegiate athletics, media, or entertainment.
  • Previous management or leadership experience.
  • Established business network within the Mid-Atlantic region.

Additional Information

  • This role offers a base salary in the range of $60,000-$70,000 plus commission.
