Overview

The Director of Corporate Partnerships will lead strategic corporate cultivation and stewardship agency-wide, focusing on increasing sponsor revenue across Housing Works’ signature events and developing engagement strategies to grow non-sponsor dollars. In collaboration with the VP of Development, Director of Events, Volunteer, Marketing, and Thrift Departments, this role will manage corporate donor relationships to ensure meaningful engagement, retention, and growth of sponsor/corporate revenue, while cultivating new partnerships.

  • Reach or exceed all event sponsorship goals.
  • Increase corporate revenue by at least 30% annually.
  • Identify and initiate contact with a minimum of 3-5 new corporate partners per quarter.
  • Convert 70% of new corporate prospects into donors.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage an existing portfolio of major corporate donors, focusing on soliciting and closing renewals while identifying new prospects.
  • Develop and implement proven sales and engagement strategies to retain and increase corporate sponsorship revenue across Housing Works’ signature fundraising events (e.g., The Groundbreaker Awards, Design on a Dime, Fashion for Action, Braking AIDS), initiatives, and new opportunities.
  • Create detailed sponsor pipelines for each event, including solicitation timelines.
  • Identify new partners through comprehensive prospect research, prioritization, biographical and financial research, and capacity analysis.
  • Integrate corporate volunteer engagement into the development department, leading outreach to new prospects and collaborating with the Volunteer Coordinator to manage engagement experiences; activate corporate matching gifts and grant opportunities.
  • Deepen and increase support from existing vendor relationships, particularly in healthcare, finance, and real estate industries.
  • Collaborate with program teams to identify new corporate visibility opportunities outside of fundraising events (e.g., YPS, Undetectables, healthcare initiatives, housing portfolio).
  • Work with Housing Works’ social enterprise businesses (Thrift and Cannabis Co.) to develop visibility opportunities and cultivate vendor partners.
  • Develop compelling collateral to communicate corporate engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Events and Communications Coordinator to ensure partner visibility in marketing, develop creative visibility strategies, and implement on-site event activations.
  • Work with the Data team to ensure partner opportunities, contacts, and revenue are updated in Salesforce.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist the VP with developing event budgets and revenue targets.
  • Manage logistics of corporate partnerships, including invoicing, timely payments, and guest lists.
  • Contribute to event production needs related to corporate involvement.
  • Attend networking events, benefits, and social events to broaden networks and generate leads.
  • Participate in on-site event productions.
  • Work with the VP to produce detailed reporting and analysis for event sponsorship revenue and KPIs.
  • Contribute to other Development team activities as needed.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of donor relationship management experience, preferably with a corporate portfolio.
  • Strong sales/development experience with a demonstrated record of success in closing gifts.
  • Experience in strategic planning, goal-setting, and performance management; up-to-date knowledge of CSR trends.
  • Superior communication skills, including leading presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Creative critical thinker with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining accountability.
  • Strong organizational, follow-through, and detail-oriented skills, with exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel for job-related appointments, meetings, and conferences.
  • Experience and commitment to working with low-income and marginalized communities, as well as individuals with chronic medical and/or behavioral health conditions (preferred).

Essential Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75-80% of the time.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and traverse work locations.
  • Constant use of computers, cell phones, and other office equipment.
  • Frequent communication with staff, volunteers, donors, and vendors on event management and fundraising matters.
  • Ability to exchange accurate and concise information in these situations.
