Director of Convertible Sales

Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute complex and large scope fixed income sales aligned with William Blair’s sales strategy.
  • Target key investors and actively surface cross sale leads, striving to increase account penetration.
  • Maintain longstanding internal partnership with other sales professionals and actively develop leads sourced by others.
  • Manage strong relationships with key institutional investors; synthesize client issues by leveraging seasoned expertise into meaningful advice.
  • Leverage pertinent sales opportunities to associate staff.
  • Serve as a sounding board to less experienced staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business required.
  • MBA from top business school preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of institutional bond sales experience from a top brokerage firm required.
  • SIE Exam, Series 7 and Series 63 must be acquired within 90 days of employment.
  • Excellent marketing, business development and selling skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • In depth knowledge of the bond markets.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

About the Role

This role is entirely commission-based. Commission does not include any other forms of compensation.
