About the role

Your responsibility is to own and accelerate Alpha’s word-of-mouth engine across an entire region—organizing dinners, coordinating parent ambassadors, engaging municipal leaders, and connecting business executives willing to offer students their first meaningful projects. In a typical week, you will work in four different settings, designing and executing the region’s event calendar (from 150-person open houses to eight-seat dinners), activating current parents as ambassadors, cultivating relationships with officials and executives, and delivering Alpha’s promise of introductions, masterclasses, internships, and alumni integration—all tracked family by family. You create and refine the systems as you go; the frameworks you develop are adopted by peers in other markets. Success is measured by the proportion of growth driven by authentic personal endorsements over multi-year trends, not quarterly snapshots.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute the region’s event calendar: open community events, curated dinners organized by city and grade level, and family retreats—multiple per month, all within budget
  • Identify and coordinate venues, hosts, and vendors; personally facilitate each event
  • Enlist current parents to serve as ambassadors, prepare them with authentic narratives, and pair them with prospective families for tours and conversations
  • Establish relationships with municipal officials and business leaders, converting those relationships into event venues, campus expansion support, and real opportunities for students
  • Organize enrolled families into parent circles and connect students to mentorships, expert-led masterclasses, and real-world internships; ensure graduating families are welcomed into the alumni network within 30 days
  • Record every event, introduction, and first-contact source in the CRM so that “doors opened per family” reflects accurate, verifiable data

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Purchasing growth through paid media, advertising budgets, or lead-generation metrics
  • Managing brand narrative or top-down marketing campaigns (owned by the Marketing team)
  • Handling admissions processing, conducting tours, or managing enrollment documentation (owned by Admissions and Family Success)
  • Operating a campus on a daily basis or managing physical facilities
  • Measuring success by raw attendance numbers or headcount
  • Waiting for a complete playbook, templates, or support staff before beginning execution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building communities or relationship-driven programs in K-12 education, membership organizations, or comparable network businesses, where growth was generated through referrals, members, chapters, alumni, or client portfolios—with quantifiable results
  • Personal experience designing and executing 20+ events spanning the full spectrum, from intimate curated dinners to open events with 100+ attendees, including budget accountability
  • Proven track record of establishing and sustaining relationships with public officials or business executives that delivered concrete, identifiable outcomes
  • Consistent CRM discipline; systematic logging of relationships, attributions, and actions is an established practice
  • Current residence in, or willingness to relocate to, one of these regions: San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Greenwich (CT), Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dorado (PR), Nashville, or Park City (UT)
  • Work authorization in the US without need for visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Led regional growth, community development, or partnership functions for a network-based organization such as a school system, membership club, franchise, or civic or faith-based institution
  • Developed and monetized a high-trust relationship portfolio as a client-facing leader in wealth management, consulting, or business development
  • Advanced through roles in admissions, institutional advancement, community organizing, or hospitality, and consistently served as the face and host of the organization
  • Pre-existing connections with local government or the business community in your target city
  • Deep familiarity with how families evaluate and decide on high-stakes education options
