About the role
The Director of Community Experiences and Support will lead efforts to create a supportive environment at Hillel, fostering wellbeing through community-centered practices and innovative programming.
Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of resilience and connection by creating strategies to integrate a well-being framework into Jewish life experiences.
- Design and implement proactive, skills-building wellness initiatives, collaborating with student leaders, artists, and educators.
- Provide staff training and consultation to build a unified culture and equip staff to offer appropriate student support and referrals.
- Absorb and assess student and community needs, ensuring Hillel is responsive to student needs and cultivates wellness practices across the community.
- Participate as a member of the Hillel professional team, covering key observances and coordinating with major campus events.
Requirements
- A graduate-level degree in social work, public health, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of post-graduate experience working in a community-based setting.
- A strong commitment to Jewish pluralism and the ability to create welcoming spaces that respect and celebrate the diversity of Jewish identities, backgrounds, practices, and perspectives.
- Proactive communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience training or empowering college students to design opportunities to promote their social, emotional, or physical well-being.
- Readiness to connect students with support as they navigate diverse issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, both within an organization and with external partners.
- Manage multiple projects effectively.
