About the role

The Director of Community Engagement at Alpha will own the relationship with every family on campus, maintaining their confidence through challenging moments, cultivating a community where belonging feels intentional, and establishing the conditions under which satisfied families transform into active advocates.

Responsibilities

  • Own the relationship with every family on campus—the sustained, deepening connection that makes parents feel recognized, not merely attended to
  • Foresee concerns before they surface and address them with the tact and interpersonal skill that preserves trust
  • Maintain visible presence where families gather: morning arrivals (7–9am), afternoon departures (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend activities
  • Create a campus community with authentic character—events, rituals, and interactions that make families feel they're part of something deserving of loyalty
  • Develop parent advocates through organic cultivation, delivering experiences so reliably excellent that referrals emerge naturally
  • Sustain the ongoing dialogue about Alpha's AI-powered approach with families managing screen time questions, skeptical relatives, and periodic doubt—not only during enrollment, but across their entire campus tenure
  • Recognize when a family isn't aligned and manage that situation with the same grace you apply everywhere else—safeguarding the community is integral to serving it
  • Establish the systems and rhythms this role demands in a setting where the blueprint is still emerging

Requirements

  • Currently living within commuting range of one of these campuses OR prepared to relocate within 60 days (preference for candidates with established local community ties): Denver, CO; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Tampa, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Charlotte, NC; Las Vegas, NV; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Dallas (Carrollton), TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston (The Woodlands), TX; Park City, UT; Burlington, VT; Kirkland, WA; or Jackson Hole, WY
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • 5+ years in a relationship-focused role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropy, or any setting where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal fluency mattered as much as competence
  • Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging situations with sophisticated families and exit with trust reinforced
  • Authentic presence and communication approach that builds confidence rapidly with affluent, high-expectation families—not polished in a way that appears rehearsed
  • Direct familiarity with independent, private, or non-traditional education—through professional experience or as a parent—that provides you credible footing when families challenge the model
  • Sincere conviction in AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that belief authentically across years of parent relationships, not solely during the enrollment phase
  • Availability for variable hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening gatherings 2–3 times monthly, and occasional weekend commitments

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide immediate, organic credibility on campus
  • Private school or independent school background with demonstrated family retention and community strength—beyond enrollment metrics alone
  • Experience managing high-stakes family relationships where your judgment and discretion were the foundation of sustained trust
  • A natural ability to design experiences—events, moments, environments—where people feel part of something deserving of protection
  • Prior startup or early-stage involvement where you built from the ground up and remained composed amid rapid change
