About the role

The Commissioning Director will lead the delivery of commissioning programmes on large-scale hyperscale data center developments across the United States. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commissioning professional with extensive experience in hyperscale or large mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full commissioning programme across multiple hyperscale data center projects.
  • Develop and implement commissioning standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Oversee Levels 1-5 commissioning activities including testing, validation, integrated systems testing, and final turnover.
  • Manage third-party commissioning providers, consultants, and commissioning teams.
  • Cook up coordination with construction, MEP, QA/QC, operations, and design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mitigate project risks and resolve technical commissioning challenges.
  • Drive schedule adherence while maintaining the highest standards of quality and operational reliability.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on commissioning progress, milestones, risks, and project readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Support the growth and development of commissioning personnel and project teams.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience delivering commissioning programmes for data center projects.
  • Prominent track record managing the full commissioning lifecycle from design review through IST and final handover.
  • Experience leading commissioning teams on large-scale mission-critical or hyperscale developments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, controls, and integrated systems commissioning.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different locations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of commissioning documentation, testing procedures, and turnover processes.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the United States.
