About the Role
The Director of Aide Services works under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services and is responsible for assigning and overseeing aides as they provide care to residents in accordance with resident assessments, care plans, and as directed by nursing management.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership to our aide team
- Mentor and develop aide staff, provide ongoing training and education to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of our aide staff
- Responsible for overseeing the creation, management, and maintenance of schedules for aides in conjunction with the aide coordinator
- Ensure that charting is completed by all aides
- Implement policies, procedures, and best practices for operations
- Support, build, and sustain a diverse team who successfully and consistently deliver on objectives and goals
- Communicate clearly, establish and maintain effective relationships with team members to problem solve in an educational and cooperative manner
- Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
- Protect privacy and dignity by keeping patient information confidential; comply with HIPAA guidelines and related laws
- Adhere to professional standards, company policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local requirements
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; and maintaining licensure
- Work well within a team environment to collaborate daily with nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and CNA leadership
- Work closely with patients on a 1-1 level but receive strong support from a patient care team
- Work independently on a day-to-day basis with activities including phone, email, and written communication, meetings with a variety of healthcare professionals, and an understanding of hospice rules and regulations
- Learn and use an electronic medical records system
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice with one year of experience under license
- Current CPR Certification
- At least 1 year of experience in leadership required
- Previous hospice experience preferred
- Previous experience as a CNA preferred
- Reliable transportation, driver’s license, and car insurance
