About the role
Join our Highlands-Cashiers Hospital team as Director of Clinical Operations, where building a healthier tomorrow is more than a job. Assist the President/CNO to ensure compliance with all standards and applicable laws governing nursing and clinical practice in North Carolina. Direct area operations, programs, and activities consistent with the Hospital’s objectives and strategic plan. Promote and support a shared governance model of nursing leadership. Maintain clinical competency to assist in emergencies, take administrative call, and advise on patient care issues while facilitating an interdisciplinary team approach. Demonstrate commitment to excellent service, team development, and community relationships.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all nursing and clinical practice standards and applicable laws in North Carolina.
- Direct operations, programs, and activities aligned with the Hospital’s strategic plan.
- Retain responsibility and accountability for operations, even when delegated to other leadership.
- Promote and support a shared governance model of nursing leadership.
- Maintain clinical competency sufficient to assist in emergencies.
- Serve as part of the administrative leadership team, taking administrative call.
- Advise on patient care issues and facilitate an interdisciplinary team approach.
- Support the development and growth of hospital team members.
- Develop sound relationships with leadership, physicians, team members, and the community.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing or BSN with MBA or MHA (or equivalent); or currently signed commitment letter to enroll within 6 months and complete within 3 years. Exemptions require approval by CNO Advisory Board Council.
- Current, active, and unrestricted NC Registered Nurse licensure or eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license.
- BLS certification.
- 4 years of managerial experience in healthcare or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification.
- Practice and knowledge of DMAIC methodology.
