Director of Clinical Education
About the role
Responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the clinical preceptor network for all clinical phase students.
Works with Program Director and Director of Didactic Education to develop and implement horizontal and longitudinal goals and learning objectives within the curriculum to ensure a system of progressive learning and assessment across the continuum of the program.
Directs the operational processes performed by the Clinical Coordinator to schedule students’ Supervised Clinical Practice Experiences (SCPEs).
Develops and implements the processes and content of preceptor development, onboarding, evaluation and training activities.
Liaison to the faculty of the Creighton University Medical School and other clinical partners and stakeholders on clinical training matters.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements the didactic curriculum and assessment plan for the clinical phase of the program.
- Course director or co-director as assigned.
- Classroom instruction and small group facilitation in the PA program in areas of expertise.
- Chairs, Clinical Education Committee.
- Develops and participates in student assessment and evaluation.
- Provides student advising.
- Contributes to application evaluation, interviews and selection of matriculating students.
- Participates in ongoing program evaluation and accreditation processes.
- Performs site visits and coordinates site visits to clinical preceptors by faculty.
Requirements
- Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
- Master’s degree
- State Licensure (or license-eligible)
- 2+ years of experience in PA education
