Director of Census Development

About the role

iCare Health Network is seeking a Director of Census Development. This position is responsible for leading the strategy for census growth in the care centers and day-to-day admissions needs to maximize professional relationships and referrals. This position is responsible for collaborating with Operations and Clinical leadership to plan and grow census and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement census growth strategies across multiple nursing facilities within the long-term care network
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, referral sources, and market expansion initiative
• Collaborate with facility leadership to support occupancy goals and drive consistent census performance
• Coordinate with the financial team to assure admission policy and procedures are updated and align with organizational goals.
• Support financial performance by analyzing census trends, market data, and operational metrics
• Align business development initiatives with organizational financial goals and operational priorities
• Monitor performance indicators to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, referral sources, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders
• Serve as a key liaison between facilities, corporate leadership, and external partners to support admissions and growth initiatives
• Represent the organization in meetings, presentations, and community or industry events
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to business development and facility-based teams
