iCare Health Network is seeking a Director of Census Development to lead census growth strategy and day-to-day admissions needs, maximizing professional relationships and referrals across its long-term care network.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement census growth strategies across multiple nursing facilities within the long-term care network.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, referral sources, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to support occupancy goals and drive consistent census performance.
  • Coordinate with the financial team to ensure admission policies and procedures are updated and align with organizational goals.
  • Support financial performance by analyzing census trends, market data, and operational metrics.
  • Align business development initiatives with organizational financial goals and operational priorities.
  • Monitor performance indicators to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, referral sources, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key liaison between facilities, corporate leadership, and external partners to support admissions and growth initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, presentations, and community or industry events.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to business development and facility-based teams.
  • Promote team building, accountability, and alignment across multiple nursing home operations.
  • Support workforce planning efforts to ensure effective execution of business development strategies.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication across facilities, corporate leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver presentations, reports, and updates on census performance and business development initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration between clinical, operational, and marketing teams to support growth objectives.
  • Oversee the Director of Specialty Programming and Strategy.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for specialty clinical programs.
  • Support resident census growth through outreach, quality initiatives, and value-driven programming.
  • Ensure programs remain competitive by utilizing industry benchmarks, peer models, and best practices.
  • Oversee the Central Admissions department.
  • Provide consultation regarding specialty program admissions, criteria, and resident appropriateness for placement.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience using Word, Excel, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • PointClickCare experience preferred.
  • English proficiency required (reading, writing, and speaking).
