Director of Business Services
Brief Description
The Director of Business Services will oversee contract execution, manage performance, and facilitate strategic goals for the department. Reporting requirements include annual performance reviews, business development revenue growth, and revenue preservation. The role involves setting strategic goals, interviewing candidates, supervising teams, and providing subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities
- Oversee contract execution and monitor performance
- Report funding needs and challenges to client
- Ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget
- Facilitate goal-level creation for broader function
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource and provide leadership
- Interview candidates and meet with recruiting to identify needs
- Supervise team for projects, including course correction, mentoring, and professional growth
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team
- Resolve problems between teams and other internal stakeholders
- Create detailed implementation plans with deadlines, milestones, processes, and risk mitigation protocols
- Maintain performance metrics and collaborate with teams for improvement
- Ensure all team members are at 100% utilization and monitor own performance to ensure 75% utilization
- Provide subject matter expertise for company business development
- Lead decision gate reviews and develop competitive assessments, pricing strategies, and win themes
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Twenty plus (20+) years related experience, with progressive responsibility in program and project management
- Master’s degree in relevant area
- PMP certification
- Track record of applying change, risk, and resource management principles
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
- Strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Strong understanding of strategic planning
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
- Experience managing budgets for multiple projects
- Track record of practicing a high level of confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to develop standards, such as Standard Operating Procedures and Delivery Frameworks
- Expertise in 3 or more lines in their portfolio to have a deeper understanding in service lines to talk to clients about them
- Program management, change management, cost estimating, scheduling, budgeting, acquisition support, quality assurance, inventory management, policy development, governance and compliance, HR, organizational development, and training
- Critical thinking and very strong communications to develop briefings for executive management
- Able to anticipate what is coming for the assigned portfolios and collaborate with peers
