Director of Brand Consumer Research
Primary Purpose
The role ensures customer understanding is embedded in in-market decisions across ADUSA's brands. The leader oversees a team of researchers aligned to specific brands, delivering insights grounded in local customer needs, competitive context, and business priorities. They serve as the primary connector between brand teams and cross-brand research, translating cross-brand research and addressing specific brand needs and perspectives. By partnering closely with brand Strategy leaders and other relevant leadership team members, this role supports effective execution and business performance. In doing so, the leader ensures strong linkage between cross-brand research and brand-level needs.
Duties And Responsibilities

Leads a team of high-performing consumer researchers directly aligned to ADUSA brands, ensuring each brand is supported by dedicated, high-quality research resources

Sets clear roadmap, focus, and ways of working for brand-aligned research teams, ensuring alignment to both brand needs and ADUSA critical priorities

PARTNERS WITH BRAND LEADERSHIP TO IDENTIFY KEY BUSINESS QUESTIONS AND TRANSLATE THEM INTO STRUCTURED RESEARCH PLANS AND PRIORITIES

OVERSEES THE DESIGN AND EXECUTION OF QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH TO ADDRESS BRAND-SPECIFIC OPPORTUNITIES

ENSURES CONSUMER RESEARCH IS EMBEDDED INTO DAY-DAY DECISION-MAKING ACROSS BRAND STRATEGY AND OTHER RELEVANT TEAMS

ACTIONS AS THE PRIMARY POINT OF INTEGRATION WITH CROSS-BRAND CONSUMER RESEARCH, ENSURING ENTERPRISE RESEARCH (E.G., SEGMENTATION, BHT, CX, NPS) IS ACTIVATED EFFECTIVELY WITHIN EACH BRAND

BRAINS FORWARD BRAND-SPECIFIC CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDING, REGIONAL NUANCES, AND COMPETITIVE DYNAMICS TO INFORM ENTERPRISE RESEARCH AGENDAS

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, psychology, social sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred

10+ years of experience in consumer research, market research, or consumer insights, with experience supporting multi-brand or multi-market organizations

PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF LEADING AND SCALING CONSUMER RESEARCH TEAMS AND DELIVERING INSIGHTS THAT DRIVE IN-MARKET BUSINESS DECISIONS

DEEP EXPERTISE IN QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES, INCLUDING STUDY DESIGN, EXECUTION, AND INSIGHT TRANSLATION

STRONG ABILITY TO CONNECT ENTERPRISE (CROSS-BRAND) RESEARCH WITH LOCALIZED, BRAND-SPECIFIC INSIGHTS AND BUSINESS NEEDS

EXCEPTIONAL STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT AND INFLUENCING SKILLS, WITH EXPERIENCE PARTNERING CLOSER WITH SENIOR LEADERSHIP AND CROSS-FUNCTIONAL TEAMS

Pay

Salary Range: $139,120 - $208,680 IL/MA/MD/NY
