About the Role

As the Director of Behavioral Healthcare, you will provide leadership, oversight, and guidance to advance our organization's mission and vision in behavioral healthcare. Partnering with the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and driving the growth of integrated co-occurring disorder programs and services, combining mental health and substance use treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Program Planning and Execution:
    • Partner with the COO to create and implement a comprehensive plan for behavioral healthcare programs aligned with organizational goals.
    • Drive innovation and expansion of services to meet community needs.
    • Foster collaboration and partnerships to enhance service integration and community impact.
  • Program Development and Oversight:
    • Provide strategic guidance in developing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral healthcare programs.
    • Ensure programs are person-centered, culturally responsive, and aligned with best practices.
    • Monitor program outcomes and make data-driven decisions to optimize effectiveness.
  • Clinical Excellence and Quality Improvement:
    • Promote clinical excellence and adherence to evidence-based practices.
    • Collaborate with clinical leaders to establish and monitor protocols, standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Oversee clinical subcontractors.
    • Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in behavioral healthcare.
  • Financial Management and Resource Allocation:
    • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, revenue generation, and resource allocation.
    • Ensure efficient resource utilization and fiscal responsibility.
    • Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, regulations, and reporting deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building:
    • Cultivate relationships with community partners, government agencies, and advocacy groups.
    • Collaborate with external partners to foster integrated care models and enhance access to services.
    • Represent the organization at forums, conferences, and community events.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with OhioMHAS, Medicaid, CARF, HIPAA, and other regulations.
    • Mitigate risks through effective policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Five+ years in program director roles, preferably in mental health and substance use services.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral healthcare operations, electronic medical records, and Medicaid documentation.
  • Familiarity with CARF accreditation and OhioMHAS certification requirements.
  • Solid grasp of quality assurance principles, including data analysis and performance metrics.

Working Conditions

Primarily on-site with flexibility for remote work. M-F daytime schedule. Physical requirements include occasional standing, climbing stairs, sitting, walking, typing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
