Director of Behavioral Health
About the Role
Horizon Health is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health to oversee the 15-bed mental health program at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, OK. This position involves developing and maintaining a high-quality treatment program, implementing a comprehensive community relations program, and leading strategic planning, program administration, and development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison between the Program, Hospital, and Horizon; communicate information and needs appropriately
- Support Hospital and Horizon missions, goals, and objectives
- Provide leadership and direction in accordance with Hospital guidelines
- Offer clinical supervision for Program nursing, counseling, patient support, and administrative staff
- Develop, implement, and update all policies and procedures for the Program in coordination with the assigned VP, Clinical Practice
- Ensure the Program meets and maintains all federal, state, local, and accrediting bodies’ regulations and standards in coordination with the Hospital
- Participate in assessing and reassessing the program needs of patients
- Supervise all patient care and establish guidelines for accurately reporting and recording patient symptoms, reactions, and progress
- Develop processes to audit and coordinate ongoing education to ensure staff are trained on proper documentation of patient care
- Recruit, interview, and select qualified staff for the Program
- Provide for professional growth and development of staff through needs identification, individual training plans, and participation in training programs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- CPR Certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare leadership
- Experience in an acute care mental health setting required
