About the role

This position serves as the Director of Operations for the baseball program. Responsibilities include overseeing program budgets, maintaining a recruiting database, coordinating team travel and game-day operations, and acting as the team liaison for scheduling and ticket concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall administrative operation of the baseball program, including:
    • Organizing and maintaining efficient office operations supporting the head coach and three assistant coaches
    • Assisting the Sports Information Director and Creative Services team with internal and external communication
    • Developing and maintaining the program budget
    • Coordinating and filtering incoming mail and outgoing emails for prospective student-athletes
  • Coordinate and assist with on-campus recruiting activities, including:
    • Giving campus tours
    • Collecting required documentation
    • Communicating with prospective student-athletes and their families in accordance with NCAA rules
  • Coordinate team and coach travel, including:
    • Negotiating vendor contracts and forecasting budgets
    • Managing travel budgets
    • Booking flights, charter buses, hotels, meeting rooms, and required equipment
    • Scheduling and coordinating team meals
    • Arranging and distributing per diem and travel expense cash
    • Producing itineraries for team trips
  • Game Day Operations:
    • Away Games: Serve as point of contact for travel-related logistics with hotels, air, and ground transportation; travel with the team
    • Home Games: Ensure recruits and guests are adequately serviced at the gate
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with NCAA, SEC, and UGA bylaws
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to travel and drive as needed
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in athletic program operations or a related field

Benefits

This is a benefits-eligible, full-time position under the University of Georgia’s retirement plans (TRS or ORP).

Pay

Advertised salary: $50,000

Schedule

Full-time position with non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
