Director of Baseball Operations

About the role
This position serves as the Director of Operations for the baseball program. Responsibilities include overseeing program budgets, maintaining a recruiting database, coordinating team travel and game-day operations, and acting as the team liaison for scheduling and ticket concerns.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall administrative operation of the baseball program, including:
- Organizing and maintaining efficient office operations supporting the head coach and three assistant coaches
- Assisting the Sports Information Director and Creative Services team with internal and external communication
- Developing and maintaining the program budget
- Coordinating and filtering incoming mail and outgoing emails for prospective student-athletes
- Coordinate and assist with on-campus recruiting activities, including:
- Giving campus tours
- Collecting required documentation
- Communicating with prospective student-athletes and their families in accordance with NCAA rules
- Coordinate team and coach travel, including:
- Negotiating vendor contracts and forecasting budgets
- Managing travel budgets
- Booking flights, charter buses, hotels, meeting rooms, and required equipment
- Scheduling and coordinating team meals
- Arranging and distributing per diem and travel expense cash
- Producing itineraries for team trips
- Game Day Operations:
- Away Games: Serve as point of contact for travel-related logistics with hotels, air, and ground transportation; travel with the team
- Home Games: Ensure recruits and guests are adequately serviced at the gate
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with NCAA, SEC, and UGA bylaws
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to travel and drive as needed
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in athletic program operations or a related field

Pay
Advertised salary: $50,000
Schedule
Full-time position with non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
