About the role

The Director of Athletics/Dean of Students/Co-Transportation Dir/Co-School Safety Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of student life at South Newton High School, including athletics, student safety, transportation, and student behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all athletic programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Manage student transportation services, ensuring safe and efficient routes.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for school safety and emergency response.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain a positive and inclusive school environment.
• Monitor and address student behavior issues, implementing appropriate interventions and disciplinary actions.
• Work closely with parents and guardians to promote open communication and support student success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, sports administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high school setting.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and community members.
• Experience with crisis management and emergency preparedness.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws related to education and student safety.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
