About The Role As the Director of Analytics, you will lead our analytics strategy, ensuring data is transformed into clear, actionable insights that drive business decisions across every department. You will own the full analytics lifecycle—from defining metrics and building scalable reporting infrastructure to championing AI-powered data accessibility. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise, requiring you to partner with cross-functional stakeholders while mentoring a high-performing analytics team. Key Responsibilities Analytics Leadership: Partner with Product, Engineering, Growth, Finance, and Operations to translate complex business questions into actionable analytics. Present business narratives and recommendations to senior leadership. Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the company’s analytics strategy, ensuring data initiatives directly support business goals and executive decision-making. Infrastructure & Governance: Oversee the semantic layer and scalable data models (SQL, dbt, Looker) to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and trusted, self-service reporting across the organization. AI Innovation: Lead the implementation of modern AI-powered analytics tools (e.g., conversational analytics, LLMs) to streamline reporting, improve data accessibility, and accelerate time-to-insight. Team Development: Manage, mentor, and scale the analytics team, providing technical guidance, prioritization, and professional development. What You Bring Experience: 7+ years in analytics, BI, or data science, with a proven track record of leading teams and analytics initiatives. Excellent Communicator: Ability to bridge the gap between technical data work and non-technical stakeholders, influencing strategy through data-driven storytelling. Technical Stack: Advanced SQL and Python proficiency; strong experience with modern data modeling (dbt) and BI platforms (Looker). AI/LLM Application: Practical experience applying generative AI or LLMs within a BI or data context to solve real-world business problems. Environment: Experience in fintech, a high-growth startup, or a highly regulated industry is preferred. Operational Excellence: Strong project management skills with the ability to balance long-term strategic projects against fast-paced, high-priority ad hoc analyses. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (CS, Math, Economics, Statistics, Master’s degree is a plus) or equivalent professional experience.
