About the Role

The Director of Advancement Services/EWU Foundation Controller will join a team dedicated to making resources available to the university that help ensure students receive an affordable, quality education and achieve their Eastern degrees, while adhering to principles of continuous improvement.

This role is responsible for the financial functions of University Advancement and the EWU Foundation financial operations, including advancement and Foundation accounting, budgeting, gift processing, CRM/database administration, financial and fundraising reporting, prospect management, prospect research, and information systems. The position also provides oversight of the Advancement Services staff.

This leader serves as a finance and budget liaison for Advancement, representing the department to various campus departments, organizations, and committees, including but not limited to the University Budget Committee, Data Management Committee, IT Project Prioritization Committee, EWUAA, and EAF.

The position analyzes and leverages data to inform organizational strategy across finances, investment of Foundation funds, uses of donated funds, and revenue forecasting. It also has oversight responsibility for processing and recording all philanthropic gifts and ensuring practices are in place for timely, accurate donor and gift acknowledgment, including thanking, recognizing, and stewardship reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial functions of University Advancement and EWU Foundation, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage gift processing, CRM/database administration, and fundraising reporting.
  • Lead prospect management and research efforts to support fundraising strategies.
  • Serve as a finance and budget liaison to campus departments, organizations, and committees.
  • Analyze and leverage data for organizational strategy, including investment of Foundation funds, uses of donated funds, and revenue forecasting.
  • Ensure timely, accurate processing and recording of philanthropic gifts, donor acknowledgment, and stewardship reporting.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Advancement Services staff.

Pay

The salary for this position is $113,516 – $158,923. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.
