Overview

The next Advancement Director of SS. Simon & Jude Cathedral School will be an enthusiastic individual with a lived commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education, and a desire to honor the traditions and culture of our school.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior communication skills, ability to conceptualize and execute strategic plans, the ability to interact confidently and effectively with school staff, students, donors, school administration, the media and alumni
  • Ability to build a team, effectively recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Successful experience in a parochial or not-for-profit environment
  • Experience in enrollment management, development, sales, marketing, communication, and/or volunteer management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), website management and the internet

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage and implement school fundraisers and other community events as needed throughout the school year
  • Responsible for the planning, management and implementation of the marketing, recruitment and retention of students. This includes but is not limited to open houses, campus visits and tours, brochure creation, online presence, etc.
  • Maintain the school’s endowment fund and private pool of scholarships
  • Manage the school’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and the school website
  • Database management: oversee the management of databases as it relates to enrollment management and development, especially the updating and maintaining of the alumni database and process all gifts/donations to the school
  • Responsible for setting and maintaining professional writing and design standards for school communications. This includes but is not limited to: Print publications including school newsletter, marketing materials, online publications, social media postings and direct mail pieces
  • Media relations including advertising and press releases in local newspapers, local media coverage of school events
  • Identify, recruit, and engage volunteers including: prospects, parents, alumni, grandparents, students, faculty and administrative staff, etc.
  • Manage the school’s Student Ambassador Program and oversee parent volunteer activities
  • Seek grant opportunities
  • Promote Catholic Education Arizona to school families, parishioners and other select parishes
  • Attend all Diocesan Development Director meetings and School Advisory Board meetings
  • Perform other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by the principal

  • Salary is negotiable based on experience, and education.
