Responsibilities

• Facilitate the admission of clients from the surrounding community, area hospitals, or other health care agencies to the facility
• Maintain or exceed the budgeted census and patient mix
• Verify financial assets, insurance coverage, i.e. Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance eligibility
• Meet with families to discuss the services provided by the facility and the short and long term health-care needs of the resident
• Design and implement a marketing plan which educates the community, healthcare agencies, discharge planners, social workers, physicians, etc. about the facility with the purpose of encouraging and expanding the referral base
• The focus of the Director of Admissions efforts is predominately the adult geriatric population

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in the healthcare and/or marketing field
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• The ability to work independently, as well as part of an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate appropriately to families, residents, physicians, referral sources, department heads, community and governmental agency representatives
• The ability to gather, manage, and verify confidential financial and health related information
• The ability to expand and maintain a solid patient referral base
• Excellent ability to market the services of the facility to the community

Pay

$72,000–$80,000 annually
