About the role
The Director of Admissions and Enrollment at Alpha will serve as the trusted relationship anchor for every family's Alpha experience. They will maintain family confidence during challenging periods, foster a community where belonging feels meaningful, and establish conditions under which satisfied families naturally become active advocates.
Responsibilities
- Own the relationship with each enrolled family—the evolving, strengthening connection that ensures parents feel recognized, not simply accommodated
- Identify potential concerns before they escalate, and address them with the discretion and interpersonal skill that preserves confidence
- Maintain visible presence in family-facing moments: morning arrivals (7–9am), afternoon departures (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend programming
- Develop a campus culture with authentic character—programming, rituals, and interactions that foster a sense of belonging to something valuable
- Generate parent champions naturally, delivering experiences of such consistent quality that word-of-mouth referrals emerge organically
- Sustain the conversation about Alpha's AI-driven approach with families managing screen time concerns, skeptical relatives, and periodic doubts—not only at enrollment, but continuously throughout their campus tenure
- Recognize when a family fit isn't optimal and manage that determination with the same care you apply universally—community protection is integral to service
- Create the structures and routines this position demands within an environment where standard operating procedures are still developing
Requirements
- Currently reside within commuting distance of one of these campuses OR willing to relocate within 60 days (preference for candidates with existing community roots)
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- 5+ years in a relationship-centered role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropy, or comparable environments
- Proven capacity to sustain relationships through challenging moments with sophisticated families while preserving trust
- Authentic presence and communication approach that builds confidence swiftly with affluent, high-expectation families—genuine rather than performative
- Direct familiarity with independent, private, or non-traditional education—through professional experience or as a parent—that provides credible standing when families challenge the model
- Authentic commitment to AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that conviction genuinely across years of parent relationships, not merely during initial enrollment
- Availability for variable hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening events 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend activities
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Established relationships within the local affluent community that would provide immediate, organic credibility on campus
- Private school or independent school background with demonstrated family retention and community strength—beyond enrollment metrics alone
- Experience managing high-stakes family dynamics where your judgment and discretion were the foundation of sustained trust
- A natural ability to design experiences—events, moments, environments—that make people feel part of something worth safeguarding
- Prior startup or early-stage experience where you built from the ground up and maintained composure amid rapid change
