Location: Louisville, CO Salary: $150,000.00 USD Annually - $175,000.00 USD Annually Description Title: Director of Accounting Operations Type: Full Time Location - Greater Boulder - Hybrid The Director of Accounting Operations reports to the Global Corporate Controller and leads the company's day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across core accounting functions. This role oversees payroll, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, expense management, sales and use tax compliance, cash accounting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong U.S. GAAP expertise, experience managing accounting teams, and a track record of driving process improvements and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop Accounting Operations teams, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger functions.Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and accounting records.Manage domestic payroll operations and ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations.Direct accounts payable operations, vendor payment processes, and AP automation initiatives.Oversee employee expense reimbursement programs and corporate card compliance.Ensure sales and use tax compliance, filings, audits, and regulatory reporting.Review cash accounting activities, bank reconciliations, and treasury-related accounting processes.Support external audits, SOX compliance activities, and internal control initiatives.Drive process improvements, automation projects, and ERP system enhancements.Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Financial Reporting, HR, Procurement, Treasury, IT, and external auditors. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.10+ years of progressive accounting experience.5+ years of people leadership experience.Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial close processes.Experience managing general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, reconciliations, and cash accounting functions.Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar platforms.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Preferred Qualifications CPA certification.Public company experience.SOX 404 compliance experience.Experience with multi-state payroll and sales tax compliance.Experience leading accounting automation and process improvement initiatives.Experience with expense management platforms such as Concur, Navan, Brex, or Expensify.
