Director of Accounting

For our client, we are seeking a Director of Accounting to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This leader will oversee accounting modernization efforts that strengthen reporting accuracy, process efficiency, and financial insight across the organization. The role partners closely with finance, IT, and other stakeholders to drive system implementations, automation, and change adoption. This is a highly visible position with meaningful impact on execution, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $103,800 – $173,300 annually Responsibilities Lead key cross-functional projects involving system implementations and finance modernization initiatives Manage project timelines, scope, and stakeholder communications Proactively identify risks and resolve issues during project execution Automate and streamline accounting processes using advanced technology solutions Collaborate with IT and finance teams on reporting automation and workflow improvements Support change management and adoption of new financial tools and processes Analyze financial results to provide insights into performance trends and drivers Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of 7 years of accounting and financial leadership experience Familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, ERP/reporting systems, and AI-enabled finance tools Expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control concepts Proven ability to lead complex initiatives through collaboration and influencing others Experience with automation and process improvement in finance environments Advanced analytical skills for interpreting large datasets Benefits Opportunity to work on high-impact finance initiatives Collaborative environment with cross-functional teams Involvement in transformative projects involving AI and automation Potential for career growth within a progressive finance organization Emphasis on data-driven decision making and innovative solutions Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
