Director of Accounting

Who You Are

• Finance and accounting professional with 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate, property, or asset management
• Proven team leader with the ability to drive accountability and improve performance
• Strong expertise in interpreting complex lease structures including step rent and percentage rent
• Proficient in Yardi, MRI, or similar systems with experience handling large portfolios and billing processes
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and a focus on accuracy and risk mitigation

What You'll Do

• Lead accounting operations and oversee team output across portfolio activities
• Support and direct senior staff while ensuring accuracy in lease administration, billing, and reconciliations
• Use reporting tools to track progress, identify issues, and maintain timely deliverables
• Set and monitor KPIs to improve productivity and team effectiveness
• Strengthen policies, controls, and workflows to enhance oversight
• Drive new initiatives, including system upgrades and process improvements
• Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to resolve issues and fulfill requests
• Assist with recurring financial reporting and presentations

Pay & Location

Salary Range: $170,000 – 185,000 annually, based on experience

Location: New York, NY – Hybrid
