Director of Accounting

About the role

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Director of Accounting to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory activity, and operational performance to support accurate financial reporting and business decision making.
• Prepare cost analyses, profitability reports, and management reporting packages that provide insights into financial and operational results.
• Support month end and year end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting schedules.
• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and operational teams to improve cost visibility, financial accuracy, and overall profitability.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, inventory reviews, audit support, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• A Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of cost accounting or inventory accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting principles, inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting practices.
• Possess experience maintaining product costing data, inventory valuations, and operational accounting records.
• Maintain proficiency with enterprise resource planning systems, accounting software, and advanced Excel functionality.

• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail when preparing reconciliations, financial analyses, and cost reporting schedules.
• Communicate effectively with accounting, operations, engineering, and leadership teams.
• Maintain strong organizational skills while managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
• Bring experience with manufacturing operations, process improvement initiatives, professional accounting certifications, or artificial intelligence tools used for financial analysis considered beneficial.

Pay

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $175,000 to $195,000 per year.
