Director of Accounting and Finance

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced accounting & finance leader to take ownership of the financial operations, guide long-term planning, and help drive sustainable growth in a start-up environment. In this high-impact leadership role, you’ll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and compliance while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all functions of the finance department, including accounting, reporting, and audit activities
• Develop and execute financial strategies that align with company goals and support long-term growth
• Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and key reports to senior leadership and the board
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to monitor performance and identify opportunities
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and internal controls
• Partner with external auditors and support audit readiness and execution
• Drive process improvements that enhance financial accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations, planning, and corporate finance initiatives
• Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive finance & accounting experience
• Experience in financial planning, analysis, and audit processes
• Solid understanding of corporate finance principles and financial statement preparation
• Manufacturing industry experience
• IFRS & SOX experience
