About the role

The Director of Nursing Operations at Project Renewal is a critical position overseeing the delivery of comprehensive nursing services across various healthcare programs. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role collaborates with multiple departments to ensure high-quality, integrated care for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the management of all medication systems for all Nurses, including prescription review, medication ordering, storage, and client medication supply.
  • Provides oversight for nursing workflows and processes in medical clinics, monitoring for side effects, and reporting to prescribing providers.
  • Assesses each client's knowledge of medications and ability to self-administer, providing teaching as needed to RNs, LPNs, and facility staff.
  • Communicates regularly with on-site psychiatric and medical providers, and case managers, and assists in triaging challenges to appropriate providers.
  • Participates in program high-risk meetings and schedules regular on-site team meetings for nursing staff.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and schedules nursing staff, and develops in-service educational programs for staff.
  • Schedules nursing staff across all project sites and evaluates their performance using chart reviews, client surveys, and other performance tools.
  • Collaborates with clinical quality improvement teams to assess and improve medication management, and maintains documentation in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Manages requirements for audits, grants, and reports as requested by funding agencies and regulatory entities.
  • Works with the Healthcare Leadership team to develop healthcare systems and promote integration of care across all programs.

Requirements

  • New York State licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Phlebotomy Certification (CPT)
  • A strong commitment to providing compassionate and trauma-informed comprehensive health care to people experiencing homelessness
  • A strong commitment to working in an integrated interdisciplinary environment
  • 5+ years clinical experience
  • 2+ years supervisory/management experience
  • Experience in Article 28/FQHC settings, with additional experience in OASAS settings preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records

Qualifications

  • PhD in Nursing or related field
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field
  • Board certification in relevant specialty area
  • Experience in managing large-scale healthcare operations
  • Experience in managing interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience in grant writing and regulatory compliance

Pay
