Facility: Sisters of Charity Hospital Shift: Shift 1 Status: Full Time FTE: 1.000000 Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: Yes Work Schedule: Days and Evenings Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Summary: The Director Nursing Oncology & Infusion Services is the registered nurse leader accountable for system-level oversight, standardization, and operational performance of Catholic Health's oncology and infusion services across multiple hospital-based departments and ambulatory infusion locations. The position provides leadership for cancer infusion, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapy, supportive care, hydration, iron therapy, injections, and other general infusion services provided across the health system. The role is responsible for developing and implementing a consistent system approach to nursing practice, patient care delivery, infusion operations, regulatory readiness, quality and safety, staffing models, patient access, throughput and interdisciplinary coordination. The Nursing Director serves as the key nursing and operational leader for oncology and infusion services, supporting the transition from site-based operations to an integrated system model. This includes oversight of 6 or more infusion locations, standardization of clinical and operational workflows, education, policy and best practice coordination with pharmacy and MD and provider teams, and alignment with Catholic Health's broader oncology service line strategy. The Nursing Director works collaboratively with hospital leadership, oncology physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, quality, finance, revenue cycle, registration, scheduling, authorization, ancillary services, and community partners to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered, and financially responsible oncology and infusion care. The Nursing Director supports the goals and principles of Catholic Health, nursing excellence, shared governance, professional development, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and the mission and values of the organization. Responsibilities: EDUCATION Graduate of an accredited professional nursing programCurrent Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New YorkBachelor of Science in Nursing requiredMaster's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or related field requiredMaster's degree in Nursing preferredNationally recognized nursing leadership certification required or obtained within one year of hire e.g.: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)Current OCN certification preferredChemotherapy/Biotherapy certification or equivalent oncology infusion competency preferredCurrent BLS requiredACLS preferred or required based on scope of service Experience Three (3) or more years of oncology clinical nursing experience/charge nurse experienceThree (3) to five (5) years progressive oncology supervisory, management, or director-level experience in a health care settingSignificant experience in oncology, hematology, infusion services, ambulatory care, hospital-based outpatient services, or related specialties requiredExperience leading multiple departments, locations, or system-level initiatives preferredExperience with oncology infusion operations, chemotherapy administration, biologic therapy, pharmacy coordination, treatment plan readiness, authorization workflows, and hospital-based infusion services strongly preferredExperience with EPIC Beacon or similar oncology/infusion electronic health record platform preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with all levels of nursing personnel, physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, hospital leadership, ancillary departments, patients, families and visitorsDemonstrated ability to lead a diverse group of professional, clinical, technical, clerical, and support staffStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong listening skills and ability to build trust across multiple sitesPlanning skills to develop goals and objectives in concert with hospital and system priorities and to implement measurable action plansAnalytical ability to identify opportunities for improvement, evaluate operational performance, and resolve problems in a positive and timely mannerAdvanced knowledge of performance improvement, quality outcomes, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and nursing-sensitive indicatorsTeaching and coaching ability to promote orientation, competency development, continuing education, and professional growth of staffBudgeting skills to manage fiscal operations, monitor productivity, explain variances, and support responsible resource utilizationKnowledge of current health care trends, oncology service line development, infusion practice standards, hospital-based outpatient operations, and regulatory requirementsAbility to support standardization while recognizing appropriate site-specific operational differencesComputer literacy and ability to use electronic health records, productivity tools, dashboards, and performance reports WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to include hospital and outpatient environment conditionsRequires regular travel between Catholic Health facilities and infusion locationsMay require participation in meetings outside standard business hoursOccasional prolonged standing, walking, and sittingRequires ability to respond to urgent operational, clinical, staffing, patient safety, and regulatory issues
