About the Position
Swyfft is seeking a National Accounts Leader to identify and grow strategic distribution relationships with national and super-regional brokerages, cluster groups, aggregators, and program distribution partners. This role involves owning a national accounts portfolio, driving production growth, and fostering long-term partnerships across homeowners, commercial property, and flood lines.
Key Responsibilities
Own a national accounts portfolio of top-tier agency groups, cluster organizations, and wholesale/retail brokers, with direct accountability for production and growth targets.
Develop and execute account-level strategies that drive new business volume, improve line penetration, and deepen Swyfft's position as a preferred carrier partner.
Negotiate and manage override commission structures, profit-sharing arrangements, and performance incentive agreements in coordination with underwriting and finance.
Identify and pursue new national account relationships that align with Swyfft's geographic footprint and appetite across operating states, focusing on markets with strong fit and growth potential.
Represent Swyfft at key industry events and other regional and specialty insurance conferences to help expand our network and promote our products.
Act as the internal voice of our distribution partners by sharing market intelligence, appetite insights, and competitive positioning insights with underwriting, product, and pricing teams.
Partner with internal teams to develop or refine delegated authority arrangements, program structures, or specialty product offerings where national accounts can drive scaled placement.
Maintain a clear view of production performance across the national account portfolio by carrier, state, and line of business.
Provide regular analysis and reporting to the SVP, Sales & Marketing on pipeline activity, GWP trends, account health, and competitive dynamics.
Track and communicate market conditions, rate environment shifts, and capacity changes relevant to Swyfft's lines of business and operating states.
Requirements
10+ years' previous experience in a national account or strategic partnership role with an insurance distribution, wholesale brokerage, MGA/MGU, or carrier distribution organization.
Demonstrated track record of building and managing large-scale agency or broker relationships with measurable production results.
Familiarity with homeowners, commercial property, and/or flood insurance, ideally with hands-on experience across specialty or hard-to-place property lines.
Experience working within an MGA or program business structure.
Successful Candidate
Exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at every level of an organization from C-suite to regional production teams.
Strong commercial instincts with the ability to structure deals, negotiate terms, and close complex distribution agreements.
An analytical mindset with an ability to interpret and develop production reports, identify trends, and build a clear business case for investment or strategic shifts.
Clear and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
