About the Role
First Baptist Church Americus is seeking a relational and collaborative ministry leader to direct and shape the worship ministry of our growing, multigenerational church in Southwest Georgia. The ideal candidate loves Jesus, loves the local church, and can lead people in meaningful congregational worship. Our worship ministry includes both choir and band elements and is moving toward a blended style with a slight modern lean.
Responsibilities
- Lead congregational worship for weekly services and special events
- Plan worship services in collaboration with the pastor and ministry staff
- Recruit, disciple, organize, and develop musicians and worship volunteers
- Lead rehearsals and cultivate a healthy, team-oriented worship culture
- Help oversee worship-related technology, media, and service flow
- Help shape the long-term direction and strategy of the worship ministry
- Use music and worship as tools for community building, outreach, and connection, including creative opportunities beyond Sunday morning
- Participate meaningfully in the broader ministry and life of the church
Qualifications
- Strong Christian character and love for the local church
- Strong vocal and/or instrumental ability
- Ability to lead modern worship within a blended worship environment
- Relational, dependable, collaborative, and able to develop volunteers
- Ministry experience and/or relevant education preferred
- Ordination is welcome but not required

Pay
Salary: $40,000–$50,000, dependent upon education and experience; negotiable for the right candidate.
