Responsibilities
- Own and oversee middle office workflows for security-based swaps, including trade validation, trade breaks, amendments, resets, and other lifecycle events.
- Manage and resolve trade breaks in a timely manner, coordinating with front office, counterparties, clients, and operations as needed.
- Perform and oversee daily reconciliations across trades, positions, lifecycle events, and economic terms, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and manage lifecycle events across the full life of a swap, including corporate actions, rate resets, terminations, and novations.
- Oversee the identification, escalation, and mitigation of operational and financial risk related to middle office activities.
- Serve as a key communication bridge between front office, clients, and internal teams, ensuring clear, professional, and timely information flow.
- Support client-facing communications related to trade issues, confirmations, lifecycle events, and operational inquiries.
- Partner closely with internal technology teams to enhance systems, workflows, controls, and automation supporting the swaps business.
- Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory exams, and control reviews by providing documentation, analysis, and subject matter expertise.
- Develop, document, and enhance middle office procedures, controls, and best practices.
- Mentor and develop junior middle office staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience supporting equity swaps in a middle office, operations, or related role.
- Strong understanding of security-based swaps lifecycle management and supporting operational workflows.
- Solid knowledge of cash equities and how equity markets function.
- Experience resolving trade breaks and managing reconciliations in a time-sensitive environment.
- Experience working with 1940 Act Funds a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with traders, clients, and senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated interest and ability to drive process improvements and operational innovation.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
