Position Summary

As a Senior Merchandising Director, you will work across all facets of the business, including category strategy, team management, budgeting and forecasting, modular and assortments, replenishment, and supplier negotiations. You will own and set the overall strategic direction for the business unit and align with broader Walmart strategies.

  • Own and set the overall strategic direction for the business unit and align with broader Walmart strategies.
  • Identify relevant trends to meet customer needs and drive the planning, budgeting, forecasting, and growth for your categories.
  • Establish a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape to incorporate into your business plans.
  • Guide suppliers, vendors, and your team in the development of customer-focused processes and products.
  • Use your executive presence to work with suppliers at all levels and navigate interesting, complex challenges.
  • Set the category strategy by owning the strategy and growth for multiple formats and departments for large, complex, or high-risk categories and subcategories.
  • Drive the planning, budgeting, forecasting, and growth for your categories and establish a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape to incorporate into your business plans.
  • Build relationships by establishing and influencing high-visibility supplier relationships.
  • Lead your team by determining and supporting resource requirements, evaluating operational processes, measuring outcomes, and identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities.
  • Know your category by always looking for creative ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field and 5 years’ experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
  • OR 7 years’ experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leading cross-functional teams
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office
  • Negotiating with third-party suppliers
  • Masters: Business Administration

  • Annual Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
  • Additional Compensation: Annual or quarterly performance bonuses
  • Additional Compensation for Certain Positions: Stock
