Director, Medical Affairs Lead

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Global Medical Affairs representative on key cross-functional teams.
  • Master scientific and medical literature related to the platform and NMD therapeutic areas.
  • Enhance and communicate scientific leadership.
  • Contribute to congress, symposia, and publication strategy.
  • Develop and execute strategies for key opinion leader engagement and advisory boards.
  • Collaborate with clinical development, market access, commercial, and new product planning teams.

Essential Skills

  • Director or Associate Director level experience within medical affairs.
  • Expertise in rare diseases, with a preference for neuromuscular disease experience.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, not Clinical Development.
  • Doctorate degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) with a focus on rare diseases or related disciplines.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in rare diseases.
  • Analytical skills with a track record of delivering against goals in diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new disease areas or therapeutic modalities.
  • Willingness to travel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Global experience in neuromuscular areas preferred.
  • Experience with antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) is a plus.
  • Proven success in highly matrixed organizations where influencing skills are critical.
  • Experience in building relationships with thought leaders and healthcare professionals.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid work environment, with three days a week required in the Waltham, MA office. The role is part of a team dedicated to discovering and advancing innovative therapeutics for genetically driven neuromuscular diseases. The work environment is collaborative, leveraging a platform to develop targeted therapeutics for muscle and CNS delivery.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waltham, MA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130.00 - $160.00/hr.
