About the role

The Director of Materials & Logistics will lead all materials management, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, production control, and order management functions across Device Care Centers and the Field Repair organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute materials strategies that ensure inventory availability while optimizing cost, working capital, and service levels
  • Oversee inventory planning and movement across multiple facilities, ensuring accuracy, control, and efficient utilization of assets
  • Drive production prioritization and inventory allocation decisions to support customer commitments and operational objectives
  • Establish and maintain strong inventory governance, controls, and audit readiness processes
  • Direct regional purchasing activities and supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and performance expectations are achieved
  • Lead supplier escalation management, corrective actions, reclamation activities, and supply continuity initiatives
  • Develop sourcing and procurement strategies that support growth while minimizing supply chain risk
  • Drive materials cost reduction initiatives and support new product introductions with repair pricing and cost analysis
  • Lead the Insurance Order Management function with accountability for on-time shipment performance and customer satisfaction
  • Balance customer demand, inventory availability, and operational capacity to optimize fulfillment outcomes
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align priorities, manage change, and support business growth initiatives
  • Champion Lean, continuous improvement, and process optimization initiatives across the organization
  • Develop scalable processes, performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools that drive operational visibility and accountability
  • Analyze inventory, logistics, purchasing, and fulfillment performance to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure accurate documentation, process controls, and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Build, lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams, including managers and supervisors
  • Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures across the organization
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, customer focus, and continuous improvement
  • Manage organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives
  • Develop, manage, and administer departmental operating budgets
  • Establish short- and long-term strategic plans that align with business objectives
  • Support business development activities, customer implementations, and operational readiness for new programs and clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in materials management, inventory control, supply chain, logistics, or operations leadership within a high-volume manufacturing, repair, distribution, or service environment
  • 10+ years of leadership experience, including leading managers and supervisory teams
  • Proven experience in inventory planning, procurement, logistics, demand fulfillment, and operational performance management
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data to drive business decisions and operational improvements

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Master's degree (MBA or related discipline)
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent supply chain certification
  • Experience supporting repair, service, manufacturing, or reverse logistics operations
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, inventory planning, production control, and WIP management
  • Experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft Great Plains
  • Proficiency with Visio and Microsoft Office applications
