About the role

The Role: At Entegris we use advanced science to enable technologies that transform the world, and we are seeking employees who have the drive to continue that mission. Our sites in Bloomington and Chaska, MN are seeking a Director, Materials Management to join our team. This role is accountable for end-to-end materials strategy, planning, and execution across two of the organization’s most critical manufacturing sites, which collectively serve as primary supply hubs for customers as well as downstream internal manufacturing operations. This leader operates at the site operations and cross-functional level, ensuring continuity of supply not only to external customers but also to internal manufacturing networks that depend on these sites as upstream providers. The role requires balancing competing priorities across direct customer supply and other internal manufacturing sites, synchronizing production and inventory strategies, and driving resilience across the extended supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise & Network Leadership
    • Serve as the primary materials leader responsible for ensuring uninterrupted supply to customers and downstream manufacturing sites
    • Align site-level planning and execution with global supply chain strategy, S&OP, and IBP processes
    • Drive decision-making that optimizes total network performance (service, cost, inventory), not just individual site metrics
  • Talent Leadership
    • Lead and develop a team of ~10 production planners that sit across two manufacturing sites while fostering a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture
    • Build a strong leadership bench and succession pipeline for roles
    • Champion safety, engagement, and continuous improvement across teams
  • Integrated Planning & Execution
    • Oversee production planning, scheduling, and material flow across sites with complex inter-site dependencies
    • Ensure alignment between demand signals, manufacturing plans, capacity constraints, and inventory strategies
    • Lead advanced planning processes including scenario modeling, capacity balancing, and risk-adjusted supply planning
    • Partner with centralized planning, procurement, and logistics to ensure synchronization across the value stream
  • Supply Continuity & Risk Management
    • Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks that could impact manufacturing across multiple sites
    • Develop and implement contingency strategies to ensure business continuity for critical materials and components
    • Collaborate with SNP team and lead/drive initiatives to improve inventory turns while maintaining high service levels for both internal and external customers
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
    • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Customer Service, and Commercial teams
    • Influence stakeholders across multiple sites and functions without direct authority in all areas
  • Operational Excellence & Transformation
    • Drive adoption of lean materials management practices, including PFEP, pull systems, and flow optimization
    • Lead digital transformation efforts in planning systems (ERP, advanced planning tools, data analytics)
    • Standardize and scale best practices across multiple sites of responsibility
    • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance responsiveness, reliability, and efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 12+ years of progressive supply chain/materials leadership experience in complex manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site, networked, and highly matrixed manufacturing operations
  • Proven track record of leading through complexity, ambiguity, and high business impact situations
  • Deep expertise in materials management, production planning, inventory optimization, and supply chain strategy
  • Good understanding of S&OP / IBP processes and demand-supply integration
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred) and advanced planning tools
  • Leverage Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification
  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate enterprise goals into operational execution
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills across functions and organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through scale, complexity, and change
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
