About the role
The Director, Lance Marketing will lead the growth of one of the most iconic brands in snacking. With over 50% share of the $1B sandwich cracker category, Lance is positioned for continued success, and this role will be instrumental in accelerating brand growth, increasing market share, and driving long-term business performance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver annual revenue, profit, and share growth goals for the Lance brand portfolio.
- Develop and execute long-term brand and business growth strategies across all retail channels.
- Partner with Integrated Marketing, Innovation, and Insights teams to build strategic growth plans.
- Translate consumer insights into actionable marketing strategies, communication platforms, and business plans.
- Lead portfolio innovation, including product, packaging, and design strategy.
- Develop annual marketing plans that meet or exceed volume, profit, and market share objectives.
- Monitor consumer, category, and competitive trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Serve as a key business leader in the Integrated Business Planning (S&OP) process.
- Identify opportunities and risks through forecast and performance analysis.
- Manage the marketing budget and ensure strategic allocation of resources.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, R&D/QA, and Executive Leadership.
- Coach, develop, and lead a team of three marketing professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 10+ years of brand management experience within the CPG industry.
- Proven experience developing and executing successful brand growth strategies.
- Strong P&L management and financial acumen.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to set direction and drive results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, influence, and negotiation skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex business initiatives.
- Able to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
- Proven coaching, talent development, and people leadership skills.
Qualifications

- MBA strongly preferred.
- Experience influencing and partnering with key retail customers.
- Experience leading innovation initiatives, including new products and packaging.
- Competitive mindset with a strong drive for results.
- Experience working across multiple business units and stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated success leading large teams and complex organizational initiatives.
Pay
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $170,600-$234,600. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
