Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary spokesperson for the organization, managing local media relations, responding to press inquiries, drafting press releases, coordinating press events, and leading crisis communications efforts.
- Direct and manage the work of our national PR firm, aligning their strategy and activity with organizational priorities to advance Greater St. Louis, Inc.'s reputation on a national stage.
- Lead the organization's social media presence across platforms, collaborating across teams on content priorities, driving audience engagement, managing and monitoring channels, and curating local news and events for posting and amplification.
- Elevate the voices of organizational leaders through op-eds, speeches, executive communications, and social media platforms.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in strategic communications and public relations.
- Strong media relations skills and experience managing crisis communications.
- Experience working with a national PR firm and aligning their strategy with organizational goals.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, including experience crafting executive communications and op-eds.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and driving audience engagement.
