Director, Market Access and Reimbursement

About the role
Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director, Market Access and Reimbursement. You will be part of a team working to improve lives globally through medical technology innovation. The role involves leading the successful execution of client engagements through strategic planning, comprehensive project management, external vendor oversight, and the development and delivery of high-quality client solutions.
Location: Remote US, or Boston/hybrid
Responsibilities
- Track and evaluate how health policy, commercial payer trends, CMS & the AMA actions are driving change in the execution of and payment for healthcare services in the United States
- Integrate within the Veranex strategic infrastructure and business development to track key trends and determine the implications for clients and the medical device industry as a whole
- Establish recognition as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for outgoing marketing of Veranex services
- Responsible for project management, mentoring project team members, and client communication
- Development of project plan and timelines including roles and responsibilities among team members
- Deliverable development, review, and delivery to clients
- Thought leadership and problem solving to deliver strategic recommendations to clients
- Check quality of client deliverables
- Experience across a wide range of project types and client objectives, such as:
- Guiding/leading team in conducting secondary research on current medical practices, competitive technologies, reimbursement policies, clinical guidelines, insurer coverage policies, analysis of impact of public policy changes on market access and reimbursement, and other adoption factors
- Identify and readily use databases that support research and analysis needs
- Primary research (including experience with developing qualitative and quantitative primary research materials, supervising/conducting interviews; survey development, data analysis, and visualization)
- Secondary research
- Pricing strategies for various technologies (e.g., specialty and orphan drugs, innovative devices, IVD)
- Development and delivery of client proposals
- Mentor direct reports: coach and develop Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers with constructive feedback based on project work performed
- Contribution to management operations
- Lead training activities
Qualifications
- Required skills:
- BA/BS in Health Policy, Life Sciences, Economic or Business-Related field
- Minimum of 6 years relevant consulting experience, or a combination of experience and post-graduate education in healthcare consulting, biopharmaceutical, or med tech market analytics experience
- Strong presentation skills from development of high-impact deliverables to communication with senior-level management
- Excellent writing skills including the ability to distill large amounts of information into usable reports
- Preferred:
- MS, MBA, MPH, PhD, PharmD, or MD
- Experience with medical devices
