About the Role
Develops and implements the firm’s lawyer recruitment functions and communications, including the execution of summer programs, law school recruitment, non-partner lateral hiring, and additional projects upon request. Leads, supervises, develops, and trains legal recruitment managers, coordinators, and assistants. Actively participates in the firm's Service Excellence initiative, ensuring quality service to internal members, departments, external clients, and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
- Guide and support the legal recruiting team in partnership with office-level hiring chairs, committees, and practice group leaders to ensure excellent delivery of legal recruiting services.
- Foster a positive working environment that promotes productivity, efficiency, and teamwork.
- Develop advanced reporting and data tracking systems to provide updates and analysis to firm leadership.
- Stay informed on market trends to provide strategic advice on lawyer recruiting.
- Ensure accuracy of recruitment data and assist with Affirmative Action Plan compliance.
- Manage the firm-wide Legal Recruitment and Summer Associate budget.
- Develop onboarding processes for attorneys and programming for summer associates in collaboration with other directors.
- Summer Associate Program/Law School and Judicial Clerk Recruitment:
- Propose and implement strategies for law student outreach and manage the Summer Associate Program.
- Design, manage, and evaluate all aspects of the Summer Associate Program, including pre-arrival processes, orientation, mentoring, and social events.
- Generate interest and solicit work assignments for summer associates from practice areas and pro bono programs.
- Manage the evaluation and offer process for summer associates.
- Oversee on-campus and in-office interviewing, offer extension, and follow-up to meet hiring targets.
- Ensure consistent application of firm-wide recruitment policies.
- Non-Partner Lateral Attorney Hiring:
- Manage all aspects of lateral non-partner hiring, including needs assessments, candidate vetting, and collaboration with practice leaders.
- Serve as the firm’s relationship manager with search firms and key market contacts.
- Analyze data and report on metrics for lateral hiring, staying informed on compensation trends.
- Ensure high-quality service and a positive, solution-oriented approach across the team.
Requirements

Pay
The hiring range for this position is $247,520 - $309,400 annually, with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
