About the Role
Oversee the labor relations function within the Energy Services organization, maintaining satisfactory labor-management relations. Lead collective bargaining negotiations for all HSES sites, manage the full negotiations process, administer and interpret labor contracts, and handle grievances, arbitrations, and union/management practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day labor relations operations, including labor contract administration, disciplinary actions, grievances/arbitrations, policy development, reporting, and related areas.
- Establish and implement short-range and long-range strategic labor relations goals; evaluate outcomes and recommend adjustments aligned with division strategies.
- Serve as Chief Negotiator in labor contract negotiations, including collecting survey data and developing proposals and strategies for collective bargaining.
- Ensure proper administration of collective bargaining contracts; provide guidance on labor agreement interpretation and conduct in-service training.
- Provide technical advice on grievance and conflict resolution; prepare or propose responses to grievance issues and interface with attorneys.
- Present and argue management’s position in negotiations and arbitrations.
- Analyze federal/state legislative and administrative decisions to determine their impact on labor relations and recommend implementation strategies.
- Write formalized agreements reached with bargaining units and consult with exclusive bargaining representatives on contractual matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in labor relations preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Labor Relations.
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Excel (including Vlookup, Pivot Tables, and visual representations).
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to take ownership, and ability to work independently.
- Competencies: Delivery of Results, Adaptability, Customer Focus, Drive and Ambition, and ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
Physical Demands
- Sedentary role with minimal bending, lifting (up to 10 pounds), carrying, pushing, or pulling.
- Mainly performed while sitting, with occasional standing or walking for short periods.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with a moderate to low noise level.
Pay
- Starting Salary Range: $143,266.60 - $191,022.13 annually.
- Annual Bonus Potential: 20%.
