Key Responsibilities
- Designs and implements a consistent process for comprehensive investment oversight, including fund selection/search, due diligence and ongoing monitoring/reporting to clients, and internally to TruePlan associates.
- Performs investment advisory services primarily for DC retirement plans and certain non-DC institutional clients including defined benefit plans (pension plans), corporate assets and similar tax-exempt entities.
- Communicates and presents investment and capital market information to clients through written commentary and presentations and leveraging a variety of internal and external resources.
- Led tracking and reporting of client investment lineups in Broadridge Fi360 and Orion systems.
- Aids TruePlan's sales group in new business procurement including proposal writing and sales presentations.
- Collaborates with the investment team to ensure high effectiveness in repeatable and defendable selection/monitoring processes for TruePlan clients.
- Serves as voting member of the TruePlan Investment Committee.
- Serves as a liaison between the account management team to maximize client deliverables.
- Ensures compliance with client Investment Policy Statement criteria and initiates potential periodic updates.
- Ensures investment services team conformity with all standards outlined in the compliance manual.
- Leads the search, selection, and decision-making process concerning investments in the TruePlan Mutual Fund Program.
- Maintains cutting edge body of knowledge in the areas of regulatory, industry trends, and investments.
- Researches and evaluates industry innovations to keep TruePlan at the forefront of the retirement advisory industry.
- Maintains licenses in a current and proper status through Continuing Education training courses, seminars, and conferences, as scheduled, to meet FINRA and NYS Insurance Department requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics or a related field is required, Masters preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be substituted.
- At least five years of related experience in the delivery of retirement and investment advisory services for institutions or individuals (private wealth services) including regulatory, industry, and investment knowledge.
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 or Series 65 licenses are required as well as SIE.
- Existing or future interest in CAIA designation a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent relationship building skills with internal and external clients.
- Must be detail-oriented and possess superior analytical, oral and written communication skills including exceptional presentation skills.
- Must be able to present complex topics in a clear, concise and understandable manner.
- Maintains cutting edge body of knowledge in the areas of regulatory, industry trends, and investments.
- Travel within assigned territory to meet with clients and staff, typically several times per month.
Pay
The salary for this position is between $120,000 and $127,000 annually. Payrate offered will be based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities and in consideration of internal equity.
Schedule
While the incumbent will be expected to travel throughout NY and to our office in Rensselaer, NY on a regular basis, a remote working environment would be considered within New York State.
